Plug-in Hybrids-Toyota

The Prius plug-in hybrid is the latest development of the program of rechargeable vehicles Toyota. But even though the Plug-in Hybrid Prius will only run about 15 miles on just electricity, the electric engine can be charged in three hours.
Another advantage for Prius is that the car was the first mass produced hybrid to find success in the U.S. -- and the brand already has a long, successful customer following considering Toyota invested almost $1 billion to develop and launch the Prius in the 1990s while U.S. automakers focused on gas-guzzling SUVs.

The Prius plug-in hybrid is a hybrid vehicle with a lithium ion battery that allows for external recharging and provides greater energy efficiency.

How it works:

  • It is a full hybrid vehicle in which both the electric motor and the gasoline alone can drive the wheels.
  • It is recharged from a conventional power socket in just 1.5 hours
  • Lithium Ion Batteries High Performance
  • A range of 25 km in EV mode
  • Rapid acceleration in EV mode up to 100 km / h
  • CO2 emissions combined-loaded mixed-cycle of just 49 g / km.
  • Low emissions of particulate matter (PM) and nitrogen oxides (NOx).
  • 30% reduction in fuel consumption compared to the Prius (2.6 litres/100 km)

This model combines the best of both worlds. It has an EV (Electric Vehicle), all-electric, for short trips, which usually takes place in urban settings, while the gasoline engine hybrid system gives the Prius plug-in hybrid considerable autonomy for other movements.
