McLaren MP4-12C GT3 2012

The new McLaren MP4-12C GT3 will be the first McLaren car built for FIA GT racing series since the McLaren F1 GTR finished production in 1997. The 12C GT3 is based on the new MP4-12C high performance sports and a team of engineers, designers and test pilots with extensive experience in Formula 1 and GT racing has been assembled to carry out the adaptation process of 12C-based carbon racing chassis specification.

It has a flat bottom, aerodynamic rear diffuser, exhaust pipes placed in a high area of the back (to optimize the diffuser) and a spoiler mobile (which is regulated depending on the speed) and whose function is to aerobraking , as in the SLR, located in the rear.

McLaren GT has selected the TAG-400 engine control unit for the new GT3 12C. The TAG-400 is a compact, standalone engine management and data logger for race engines designed and built by McLaren Electronic Systems.
