The prototype Mitsubishi i-MiEV electric components use the same version of the series production of the i-MiEV to wheels and roads around the world. Mitsubishi facing this demanding test to improve the reliability and strength of electric cars and future plug-in hybrid models in which it is currently working and should reach the market soon.

The prototype Mitsubishi i-MiEV will be driven by Hiroshi Masuoka, a legend of Dakar with two wins under his belt, the 2002 and 2003, driving a Mitsubishi Montero that have little or nothing to do with the electric concept car and will drive in extremely light Climb to the Pikes Peaks , Colorado, USA, reached an altitude of 4,300 m.
