The Ingolstadt brand launches a major offensive in the segment coupe-sport with this new Audi TT, which debuted last night in Geneva. This generation is the third of this model and is built on the new MQB platform of the Volkswagen Group which allows you to extend your wheelbase, although its dimensions are practically traced to the previous model.
In terms of design, the most striking is undoubtedly the rear, largely reminiscent of the first generation TT. The shape of the rear pillars, with a slight wave, and the great drivers, take us back to the late 90s, a time in which J Mays and Freeman Thomas designed the initial prototype. The front, however, is rather sharp and modern, including headlights with LED Matrix-art technology-optional, requiring no change lights when crossing road circulate at night, because cars detect reverse and pedestrians to avoid dazzle. At the rear retractable spoiler that rises to exceed 120 km / h to improve high speed stability is maintained.
On the inside, the most significant is that a color screen replaces the usual 12.3-inch dashboard and integrates with analog speedometer and tachometer a little to the sides of the browser, leading term. This will allow the driver to follow the chosen route without having to look away from the road. The new seats feature integrated headrests and side adjustment may have to offer higher or lower depending on securing the driver's needs.
This change in the overall distribution of the cockpit allows the TT save the usual multifunction display center of the dashboard where we are now with three aerators also unpublished. These include the luminous center indicative operating information own HVAC system, which is operated from the central control MMI Touch, touchscreen reader. In addition, the luggage compartment offers up to 305 liters, 13 more than the previous.
The new TT will be offered only with powerful engines of between 184 and 310 horsepower are two petrol and diesel.
The initial range of the TT 2015 engines consists of two petrol and diesel. The first two are two separate 2.0 TFSI with 230 hp and 310 hp, the latter called TT S, while the 2.0 TDI of 184 hp, which spends 4.2 liters per 100 km and goes from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.2 seconds.
All three can have an automatic dual-clutch S-Tronic, while gasoline also include quattro all-wheel drive, the 'basic' as an option and the TT-S standard.
