Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 2016

Alfa Romeo is a brand that has a long and reputable tradition automaker. Its more than 100 years of history, its successes in competition and creating beautiful and representational models are a good background on which the Italian brand has been living for years. But it is also true that in recent decades Alfa Romeo seemed to be living on their laurels, trusting in a very limited range of product and with little new.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia has Quadrifoglio Verde version in its best. It is a new entrant in the segment of sports sedans "premium". Alfa Romeo has built first the sportiest version of the Giulia range, and it has led to the diesel and gasoline less powerful versions. The front of the Alfa Romeo Giulia is unmistakable. Another classic touch is the ribs of the hood, which provide an athletic look to the
car viewed from the front.

This is an important detail: Alfa Romeo has chosen to build and first launch sportier and more extreme version, for then deriving the rest of the range is possibly a question of image, of wanting to hit first with a supersport sedan, with motor. 510 hp V6, which gives a lot of talk. The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde is a car with a very light body but also with a high torsional rigidity. The Giulia, in any version, debuts on the market without compromises, in order to strengthen the brand image and attract new customers looking for a new and different product.

And while Giulia is on the Quadrifoglio Verde version its best, Alfa Romeo offers a much wider range, consisting of versions that can be mounted 2.2 diesel engine with different power levels (136, 150 and 180 hp) of two gasoline engines available: a 2 - liter 200 hp and 2.9 V6 with 551 hp QV version.

Depending on the power and level of finish, they can be attached to a 6 - speed manual gearbox or automatic Aug. 1.

The QV version will be the first to arrive at dealerships, along with the 180 hp diesel. Later will come the less powerful diesel and the petrol version, on which sales are expected fairly limited, at least in Spain.

Alfa Romeo makers also said that later will present a Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde with all-wheel drive.

Alfa Romeo is a brand known for taking care of the design of their vehicles, and Giulia is no exception. The car enters the eye, seduced by sports forms of his body and an image that, in my opinion, freshness and own mix of Italian design with the characteristic sobriety of German saloons originality.
The most hardcore brand Alfa Romeo say that has not been too bold when designing the Giulia, and reminiscent in some respects the BMW M3 , or a Maserati Gran Turismo if you look behind. But I think the result is remarkable, and the car is very attractive in any of its versions.

The Quadrifoglio Verde stands out for its sportier bumpers, the presence of a front splitter that unfolds at high speed to give more stability to the nose, the small spoiler carbon rear diffuser or alloy wheels of 19 inches, among other exterior details.

The rest of the range no less attractive despite not mount these aerodynamic extras. It is a beautiful saloon, very proportioned shapes with an air coupe, marked by the long hood, roofline slight drop back a long wheelbase of the best in the segment and short overhangs. It has the sporty style you would expect in a sedan Alfa Romeo and also perceived very elegant.

The first feeling to get on the inside is positive, a good level of quality perceived in finishes and materials used, at least in the top range versions that were shown to the press in Balocco. The dashboard has soft shapes and is driver-oriented. Leather can be present at the top of the dashboard, in addition to the steering wheel or seat upholstery. Wood tops some aspects of the console, aluminum is present in some plastics used fixtures and have a good look and feel. The three-spoke steering wheel has a sporty design, is slightly flattened at the bottom and provides excellent grip. Curiously, i ntegra the start button at the lower left.
The Giulia equipped with a digital display that can be 6.5 inches in the lower versions of the range or if the 8.8 - inch 3D Connect system, which uses dials to handle the different menus is mounted.

The center console adopts an elevated position and fits the driver in a cockpit that invites input drive. There are all kinds of regulations to adopt the best driving position and visibility is good, except backwards. To improve it, is standard rear-view camera that unfortunately too small a projected image on the screen.

In the back rows two adults travel better than three, because of the intrusiveness of the transmission tunnel, forced into a car with rear wheel drive. There is a good space in every way, and a good level of comfort is perceived.

As regards the trunk, Alfa Romeo still has not provided data capacity, but in this first contact that gave me the feeling is that he sinned low rise. If you seek a more familiar Giulia, you must know that, so far, and t is discarded a station wagon version, as he said at a news conference. The Giulia is a car with a global spirit, and family versions only demand in certain European countries, so no body urges a derivation of this type.
