Volkswagen considered this articulation index in depth and assess experiences on other vehicles. The results: the Golf Cabriolet actually sets new standards for acoustics in convertibles.
The hood is composed of a link, a ceiling, the insulation layer of filling along the indoor and outdoor. Perfection in everyday use: the development team designed the joints of the longitudinal seams of the outer tissue (middle panel and two lateral) to serve as an additional lane drip.
Perfection in aerodynamic longitudinal frames mounted between the upper joint of a total of four arches of the roof cross and the frontal arc of the roof called (the first major cross member behind the windshield frame). In turn, the hood is attached to the roof bows fixed by the retaining screw strips of fabric. Consequently, even at high speeds, the fabric roof is not filled with air. And that has a positive effect on aerodynamics.
The rollover protection element out on the golf racing upwards behind the rear headrests to within 0.25 seconds of the vehicle exceeding a preset lateral acceleration or tilt angle. The system of two modules of renewal is a fixed aluminum and an aluminum mobile within it which is prestressed with a spring. The internal profile is maintained in its rest position by a magnetic switch. When activated by the driver airbag in response to an impending rollover, the solenoid opens a notch operation and releases the internal profile. Although shoot upward, a retaining bracket excesses of a toothed track mounted on the internal profile and prevents the inner profile drop.
