Its design is designed to be exclusively an electric car. This has allowed, according to Jaguar, to advance the cabin and increase the distance between the front and rear wheels, and benefit the space for passengers. This dimension is greater than the Jaguar F-PACE (2990 mm versus 2874) while the total length is less (4680 mm and 4731 mm).
The trunk has 530 liters capacity, a similar heat engine models that need not carry batteries, as a volume BMW X4 or Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe, both with 500 liters. And they are many more than the plug-in hybrid version of this Mercedes-Benz model, which has only 350 liters for the space left by the battery (in the I-PACE is located under the passenger compartment). Under the hood there is another cargo space, but it is small (28 liters).
The drive system consists of two electric motors (synchronous permanent magnets), one on each axis, with a combined power of 400 hp. These engines provide torque to all four wheels and get the I-PACE to reach 100 km / h starting from standing in "about four seconds".
To achieve those more than 500 km of autonomy, the battery has 90 kWh of capacity. It can be recharged in a domestic socket or with a 50 kW charger. Jaguar says that in the second case recharge 80% in 90 minutes and 100% in just over two hours; Does not give the recharge time in a normal plug, which according to our calculations would be a minimum of 39 hours (in a 230 V and 10 A).
The battery is lithium-ion, we do not know its weight, and has a liquid cooling circuit through a radiator and, if necessary, with the collaboration of the air conditioning system. To heat the cabin there is a heat pump instead of a system of electrical resistances, since it is a more efficient method.
ine body is lower than the F-PACE centimeters and has a drag coefficient much better (0.29 instead of 0.34). This prototype has 23 "wheels, which we dare not say they will not be in the production model since Jaguar already assembles a 22" in the F-PACE.
The front suspension is deformable parallelogram (through a double wishbone) and rear a system of several arms that Jaguar calls "Integral Link". It is the same scheme that Jaguar uses in other models, like the F-PACE.
The I-PACE has five seats. In the passenger compartment there are two screens, one for the instrumentation and another for the multimedia system, as well as an information system projected onto the windshield.
