Talisman is the name that Renault has called the substitute Laguna. Share platform (called CMF, Common Module Family), engines and equipment items with Renault Espace 2015. Since May 2016 there is a familiar body variant called Talisman Sport Tourer.
The engine range consists of three diesel -1.5 dCi 110 hp and 1.6 dCi 131 or 160 hp (which do not require AdBlue) - two petrol and 1.6 liters and 200 hp -150. Depending on the version, the gearbox can be manual or automatic (with double clutch and six or seven speeds).
They have conducted versions 1.6 dCi 131 and 1.6 TCe 160 hp and 200 hp. The first, with which we have traveled more kilometers, it seemed balanced because it gives a correct performance and low power consumption. The other two have motors that move nimbly to Talisman. None of the engines emit much noise. The power delivery of petrol is much more progressive and enjoyable. The automatic gearboxes with that come associated the two most powerful versions (dual clutch in both cases, but with different numbers of relations) work quickly and make changes almost imperceptibly, but are abrupt when maneuver at low speeds. The manual gearbox is the least powerful of long runs and a bit rough handling.
Some versions may have a steering system on all four wheels called 4CONTROL (road makes the car more agile and city improves maneuverability), which is associated with a standard variable rate damping electronically controlled. At least with this system installed, providing comfort for passengers it is high because the suspension has a soft setting, but the body roll is sometimes large. The Talisman Energy dCi 110 hp is the version that has an approved fuel consumption lowest in the range: 3.6 l / 100 km. It is very low, lower than all alternatives of similar size and power figure, as can be seen in this comparative listing .
The Renault Talisman measures 4.86 m long, 1.87 m wide, 1.46 m high and has a wheelbase of 2.81 m. They are 15 cm more than the Laguna.
