Mercedes-Benz X-Class Pickup Concept 2016

The Mercedes-Benz Concept CLASS X is a prototype that anticipates the appearance of the pickup that Mercedes-Benz will launch the European market at the end of 2017. This vehicle is the result of a joint development with Renault-Nissan, the result of which alliance are also the Nissan Navara NP300 and Renault Alaskan.

Something that will differentiate this Mercedes-Benz and Alaskan Navara is that you can take a six-cylinder diesel engine vee. -Diesel Other engines and gasoline are four cylinders and Renault-Nissan source. Mercedes-Benz did not clarify what will be; the Navara and the Alaskan is a 2.3-liter diesel with 160 or 190 hp and a 2.5 liter petrol with 160 hp.

There will be three drive systems -trasera, total switchable and permanent total (4MATIC) - although they may not all be available in our market.

As models of Nissan and Renault, the chassis of the Class X will stringers and will rear suspension coil springs instead of leaf springs as elastic element (yes crossbows are available in some versions of Nissan). In the Class X it will be possible to transport up to 1.1 tons and tow up to 3.5. According to Mercedes-Benz in the interior parts will be "appreciated by customers of Class C and Class V".

Prototype there are two variants, called "stylish explorer" and "powerful adventurer" with its distinct design and equipment show two different approaches to this pickup ( gallery ), the first intended for road use with 22 - inch wheels and the second to use unpaved areas, with a height of 1.90 m and tires 35 inches in diameter by 11.5 inches wide. In the front bumper has a winch. Volker Mornhinwe, head of Mercedes-Benz Vans, the commercial vehicles division, refers to Class X as "a real pick up for a style of modern urban life." The final model will ledes headlights.

To handle the multimedia system, Mercedes-Benz has used a joystick, a touch panel above it and several buttons around these two controls (is the same system used most production models of the brand).

Making Mercedes-Benz Class X will be made in the plant with Nissan in Spain, where it currently produces the Navara for the European, South African and Australian market. In South America will not be available until 2018, when production begins at the plant that Renault has in Argentina.
