Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid 2013

The Plug-in is designed by Toyota to have a power handling capability that allows you to travel up to 62 mph using only electric power. The Plug-in can travel up to 11 miles while in EV mode. You can also quickly recharged in three hours using a standard 120V AC plug. If you run out of electric charge, the vehicle switches to hybrid mode perfectly, and still gives you a great mileage.

To charge this Prius Plug-in Hybrid, just plug into any wall outlet or standard household outlet with a dedicated 15 amp circuit. This produces a full charge in just three hours. If you install a dedicated outlet Electric Supply Vehicle (EVSE) 240V outlet, vehicle load only takes 1.5 hours. If you run out of electric charge while driving, do not worry, the vehicle automatically switches to hybrid mode and runs on gasoline until you have a chance to recharge.

The Prius Plug-in works like the 3rd generation Prius, but it gives you the advantage of having the power handling capability. This is a great option for drivers who make many short trips and have access to charging outlets. For example, the vehicle may run mostly in electric mode and does not use a drop of gas. However, if you regularly travel longer and / or have limited access to sockets, then the 3rd generation Prius may be a better option.
